It was a real pleasure to work on the Wesley Yard proposal.. We were approached to create a pair of renders for the new proposed container park in Newquay. The project had a pretty tight turnaround but we managed to deliver in time and at a quality the client was really happy with. It was imperative for the client to have the render in context with its surrounding to support the planning application.
As the models originated in Sketchup, we converted and exported into Maya. This would allow us to use a more sophisticated toolset. We often use a mix of creation tools, it really depends on what is required for each situation.
Each render had its own set of challenges, which we always love to confront… Whilst the verified view needed camera matching to the original photo, the courtyard needed to feel alive and vibrant in a dusk setting. We utilised Vray’s render elements & post processing effects to split out a separate bloom pass, in order to control that a bit better in the composite.
